Katie has campaigned for several school bonds in West Sacramento; has brought millions of dollars back to Yolo County’s most needy families through the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program; and provides weekly food distribution to hundreds of families living in West Sacramento and Clarksburg. Katie brought Northern California Construction Training Center to Washington Unified School District as well as to the Yolo County Fair Grounds – they have been onsite with programming for years. She also created the Children’s Health Initiative in Yolo County and enrolled 97% of Yolo’s youngest children in health insurance.
