About Katie
Katie started with the Yolo County Children’s Alliance in 2006 as a part time Executive Director and YCCA’s only staff person and a $30,000 annual budget. Since then she has gone to a full time Executive Director and grown the organization to 50 employees with an annual budget of $4.5 million.
She has a proven ability to collaborate with community members, other community organizations, County agencies, elected officials, staff, volunteers and Board Members toward mutual goals and achievements. She is experienced in planning and presenting information to a variety of audiences and constituent groups. She has a proven ability to manage finances, adhere to a budget, and to fund raise in California. Through her collaboration and natural ability to make connections, she has an extensive professional and community network with local, state, federal, and philanthropic leaders, and stakeholders.
Villegas, a native of the Sacramento region and graduate of Consumnes River College, Sacramento City College, American River College, and California State University Sacramento, has dedicated herself to serving the community she loves. She began her career as a Family Support Worker, assisting new mothers with the challenges that come with first time parenthood, while helping her husband run his first campaign for West Sacramento City Council. Villegas went on to serve as a First 5 commissioner, director on the Yolo County Fair board, and as West Sacramento (Washington Unified) School Board member. Villegas has dedicated her life to serving children and families in Yolo County.
